TENBURY Wells CC paid the price for a batting collapse for the second week on the spin as they were rolled over at home to Claverley.

Tenbury – who only just passed 100 against Romsley and Hunnington the previous week – again only narrowly made it into triple figures as they were all out for 104.

Opener Chris Giles (29) made the only score of note with Stephen Giles (16), Lewis Giles (13) and Marcus Griffiths (10) the only other Tenbury batsmen to reach double figures.

Freddie Harris (3-24) topped the bowling for Claverley who sprinted to victory inside 17 overs on 108-2 thanks to openers Riyaz Hashim (50) and John Pearsall (39no).

Ten-man Tenbury seconds fared no better as Nadeem Ahmad’s unbeaten 113 helped Claverley posted 248-6, with Ashley Wood (3-62) topping the visitors’ bowling.

In reply, Claverley bowler Darren Morris (8-33) dismissed Tenbury for 95 despite the best efforts of skipper Chris Thompson (23no) and William Rogers-Coltman (20) to salvage a draw.
