CHURCH Stretton cyclist Lucy Hart has been chosen to represent the West Midlands at the 2018 School Games.
The 15-year-old student who races for Mid Shropshire Wheelers, has been selected after some excellent results this year.
Hart has claimed two top-10 national finishes in 2018 – she came sixth in the National Cyclo-Cross Championships and seventh in the National Circuit event.
The School Games – a national multi-sport event for the UK’s most talented school-age athletes – take place at Loughborough University from August 30 to September 2 with more than 1,400 athletes competing across 11 sports.
The likes of Paralympic champions Hannah Cockroft, Jonnie Peacock and Ellie Simmonds competed in the event as youngsters, as did Olympic swimming gold medallist Adam Peaty and many other famous athletes.
