TENBURY had no answer to the ruthless bowling of league leaders Romsley and Hunnington as they were brushed aside by seven wickets in Worcestershire League Division Four.

Batting first, Tenbury’s top and middle order were destroyed by Romsley duo Scott Robbins (5-39) and Charlie Durrell (3-44).

Of the first seven Tenbury batsmen, opener Tom Pugh (19), Tom Rawlings (13) and Zack Yarranton (12) were the only three to reach double figures.

Stephen Giles (22no) and Jack Farrar (18) provided commendable tail-end resistance but Tenbury were still all out for 103 in 33.4 overs.

In reply, Rob Farrar, Jamie Farrar and Yarranton took a wicket each but Romsley cruised home in just 18.2 overs thanks chiefly to Iqbal Kasana (29no) and Steve Treadwell (27no).

Tenbury’s Second XI managed to hold out for a losing draw in the reverse fixture.

Romsley’s Matthew Peverelli hit 73 as the visitors posted 227-6 from 45 overs and while Tenbury never looked like reaching that target, they never looked like losing either and earned a draw on 174-6.
