KEIRAN Fish rued the absence of the Bright brothers as Tenbury Town opened the Herefordshire Premier season with a 6-2 home defeat to Hinton.

With Alex and Dec Bright both away, Tenbury battled manfully and were in the game for most of the afternoon, only for Hinton to run away with it towards the end.

Manager Fish – who had to play as a makeshift forward in the defeat – said: “It was difficult because I didn’t have many strikers available.

“It’s still the time of the season where people are away on holiday. You need depth in your squad and while we have some good young players, anyone would miss players like Alex and Dec.”

Tenbury led through a Fish header but Hinton turned things around to go into the break 2-1 up.

The visitors made it 3-1 early in the second half but Tenbury left-back Dan Ridley tucked a neat finish into the bottom corner to halve the deficit.

However, within two minutes, Hinton made it 4-2 and they netted two more to give the scoreline a flattering feel.
