HOME pair Miles Leach and Steve Ross triumphed as Ludlow Golf Club hosted the Seniors Open Betterball Stableford competition.
The event attracted 160 golfers from across the region but Ludlow GC duo Leach and Ross emerged victorious, albeit narrowly, with a fine score of 46 points.
Leach and Ross won on countback on the back six holes from Barry Crutchley (Robin Hood) and Malcolm Shephard (Harborne).
There were three pairs one shot behind – Roger Hardeman and Peter Dobson of Stourbridge, along with two other Ludlow duos.
Dave Morris and Pat Brittain also finished on 45 points to tie for third, as did Doug Taylor and Tris Clare, with the latter pair taking the gross prize on 36 points.
In August Club Medal news, Adrian Roberts hit top spot with 40 points, one ahead of Mark Brabazon.
Division Two was won by Ray Reynolds, on 39 points, two ahead of Simon Needham, while lady captain Fran Sanders topped Division Three on 35 points, one clear of Geoff Evans.
