LUDLOW started the new West Midlands League Division Two season in style with an emphatic 5-0 win at Wolverhampton United.
And even though the Shropshire side had a number of players missing through holidays or injuries they were well worth the five-goal margin and could have added more had they made the most of their chances.
Tom Everall led the way with an opening day hat-trick with Ryan Lewis scoring the other two. But while the scorers will grab the headlines, Ludlow’s midfield trio of Jack Davies, Kieran Dovey and Jack Marston deserve credit for their superb work.
Ludlow are back in action on Saturday when they are at home to Warstone Wanderers. Church Stretton were without a game at the weekend and they start their season with a trip to Wolverhampton United.
Ludlow Town Colts enjoyed a 3-1 pre-season win at Shobdon on Saturday.
