Ten-man Cleobury Mortimer may have lost at title-chasing Kington in Division One of the GB Liners Marches League on Saturday, but they did enough with bat and ball to stay just out of the relegation zone.

Ed Kemp helped his side to five crucial bowling points as he took five wickets for 46 while the hosts posted an unassailable 195 all out total and James Manley hit a useful 32 to help the visitors to a batting point from their 147 for nine reply.

Cleobury sit a slender three points above Dales CC, Herefordshire with seven matches to play.

But winless Knighton, who could muster only nine players for Saturday’s trip to Woolhope, are marooned at the foot of Division Two, 84 points from safety, after seeing their hosts pass the 172 for eight total they had set for the loss of just three wickets at the weekend.
