RELEGATION has been confirmed for two rugby clubs after the North Midlands RFU confirmed the make up of the Midlands leagues for next season.

Cleobury Mortimer finished bottom of Midlands 2 West North after picking up only four wins from 18 league fixtures and will kick off their league campaign at Trentham on Saturday, September 8.

Church Stretton had an even tougher time of last season, the young and previously upwardly-mobile club were forced to withdraw from Midlands 4 West North around three-quarters through the season and the regional governing body has placed them back in the bottom tier, Midlands 5 West North for the new campaign.

There were no surprises for their near neighbours, with Ludlow continuing in Midlands 2 West North, Clee Hill in Midlands 4 West North and Bishops Castle in Midlands 5 West North.

The regional governing body announced the composition of next season’s competition’s after refusing Melbourne’s appeal against relegation from Midland 1 West.
