KNIGHTON on Teme suffered a chastening home defeat at the hands of Canon Frome after being skittled out for just 29 runs.

Electing to bat first proved to be the right call by visiting skipper Adam Hope, who saw his side dominate. Most of the damage was caused by openers Sam Pratley and Ben Child who contributed 130 runs between them. Pratley top scored with a fine innings of 94 being bowled by Max Edwards.

Pete Richards was the next highest scorer, striking 33 as Canon Frome finished on 234 all out, with Max Edwards and Matthew James bowling well for Knighton, picking up three wickets apiece.

The Knighton response never got off the ground with Canon Frome bowlers Andy Lloyd (5-10) and Christopher Boyson (5-16) wreaking havoc in a devastating spell of bowling.

The home side simply had no answer to the dynamic duo, with six players heading back to the pavilion without troubling the scorer. Max Edwards was the only batsman to reach double figures with 12, in a 205 run defeat.
