TENBURY romped to a nine-wicket win at Worcestershire League Division Four strugglers Stourport thanks to some accurate bowling and fierce batting.

Skipper Robbie Farrar won the toss and put the home side in to bat only for Stourport opener Harry Downes to hit 58 before being caught and bowled by Aaron Morris.

A steady flow of wickets pinned the hosts back to 150-8 from their 50 overs with Morris (3-34) the pick of the bowlers although Farrar’s 1-9 off nine overs was also key. The other wickets went to Marcus Griffiths and Stephen Giles who claimed two apiece.

In reply, Kier Sellars hit 61 before Andy Adams (55no) and Tom Rawlings (22no) guided Tenbury to their target in just the 23rd over.

That win kept Tenbury in touch with leading pair Halesowen and West Malvern and on Saturday they are at home to a Kidderminster side yet to win this season.
