BEN Tamplin has been crowned singles champion at the Ludlow and District Snooker League making it a second successive year that the winner has come from Tenbury Snooker Club.
In the final he faced Ludlow Snooker Club’s Jamie Griffiths and although the opening two frames were shared, Tamplin duly steamed ahead thereafter and never lost the lead which culminated in a long brown ball pot to claim a resounding 3-1 victory.
The victory was even more sweet for Tamplin because he was beaten in last year’s final.
Tenbury club captain Charlie Fernihough said this regional individual title is a tough challenge as it attracts the best snooker players from across the area.
He said: “It’s fantastic that not only is Ben this year’s individual champion but that the knockout cup also remains for a second consecutive year in Tenbury.”
