LUDLOW Golf Club’s Handicap League team got their season off to a flying start with a resounding 5½ - ½ victory at home against Arscott.
Captain John Harris led from the front with partner Ross Magill securing a win on the last hole against Arscott’s top pair.
More wins followed from Simon Jones and Dave Davies 2up, Mike Corfield and Martin Downes 4/2, Nathan and Simon Herdsfield 2up, and, finally, Doug Taylor and Alan Hossbach 1up. Eddie Rowland and John Adams halved their match.
In club competitions, meanwhile, Martyn Langford stormed to an excellent 5up to win Division One of the second round of the Eakin Bowl, three ahead of Alan Meyrick (2up).
Division Two was topped by Peter Bytheway (4up) with Simon Needham (3up) a close second, while Roger Painter (2up) topped Division Three.
