DISAPPOINTED Tenbury RFC coach Andy Black said it was vital his side salvaged something from a disappointing season in Midlands Four West (South).

A 28-12 defeat at Harbury on Saturday means the team have won just once in 15 league games – at home to the same Warwickshire outfit earlier in the campaign.

“Forget the league, it’s all about playing for pride now,” Black said.

“To finish the season with just one win would be very disappointing after all the hard work that has gone on so we need to salvage something from our final few games.

“Saturday was very disappointing as we hoped that the game would be a turning point for us after we had put in some good performances against some of the leading sides in recent weeks.”

One positive for Tenbury was that they chalked up their first points after four blank returns thanks to tries from back row Greg Powell, centre Adam West and a Zack Thompson conversion.
