CROFT Ambrey RC's Gemma Mallett destroyed the opposition as she claimed an impressive win in the penultimate race in the Herefordshire Cross Country League.
Mallett stamped her authority from the start on the flat riverside course at Rotherwas to claim her second win in a row.
The contest for team honours between Wye Valley and Croft Ambrey remained as tight as ever with both registering 20 points on the day.
Laura Tootell's third place for Wye Valley was backed by Clare Sims in fifth and Becki Ansfield in 12th, while Mallett's winning run was bolstered by influential and spirited runs from Kelly Bowen in ninth and Robyn Gore in 10th.
Croft Ambrey were awarded first place by virtue of having their complete team home first and this consolidates their 26-point lead.
The junior races were won by Croft Ambrey's Sam Roberts and Hay Hotfooters' Aderyn Carter while the men’s race was won by Tim Iveson of Builth Wells.
The final race in the five race series will be held at Presteigne on Sunday, February 4.
