TENBURY Ladies Hockey Club lost their opening league game 3-1 at home to Harborne 4ths in Worcestershire League Division One, but the scoreline didn’t reflect how well they performed.

Tenbury nearly took the lead from the push inside the first 30 seconds after a lovely through ball from Emily Moseley left Cat Mumford one-on-one with the keeper only to shoot narrowly wide.

Harborne scored against the run of play for a 1-0 interval lead but the hosts levelled through Mumford who drilled home early in the second period.

Harborne scored two quick goals midway through the second half and despite Tenbury having chances to equalise, the visiting keeper kept her side’s lead in tact.
