LUDLOW boss Luke Hicks was left frustrated after seeing his side dominate at AFC Bilbrook in Division Two of the West Midlands League only to concede late on to leave them with just a solitary point.

And it means that with three draws and three defeats from their games so far, they are still looking for that elusive first win of the season.

“I don’t think I’ve ever been involved in a game where we’ve battered a side so much and ended up not winning,” Hicks admitted.

“We must have created 30 chances and hit the bar twice and a post twice. Their keeper was outstanding and pulled off two ‘worldie’ saves.”

Ludlow opened the scoring 30 minutes into the game when Ryan Lewis rounded off a good passing move with a shot from just outside the area.

But after a number of other chances went begging, Ludlow were caught out ten minutes from time when a ball was headed on for Shane Trossell who finished well past Hicks who was deputising for the injured keeper.

Ludlow are without a game on Saturday and return to action at Wonder Vaults on September 23.

Church Stretton suffered a 7-1 defeat at Vaults on Saturday and will be looking to bounce back when they host AFC Broseley this weekend.

There were good wins for our sides in the Sportsjam League.
