STEVE Davies and Lucy Wilding were the top performers across two events attended by Ludlow Castle members over the weekend.

Davies and Wilding managed to climb 40 places above their seeding in the Renault Clio to finish 22nd overall and sixth in class at the Brawdy Stages in Haverfordwest.

Fellow Ludlow competitors Chris Simmons and Andy Moss made a strong start to the event from a 12th seeding but a split oil cooler during stage three forced their retirement in the Darrian T9.

Stefan Morris and Rhys Griffiths recovered from a rocky opening half to finish 18th overall and second in class at the Alan Jones Memorial Rally in Knighton.

The duo had been sent down to 24th after a six-minute time penalty but some top-five times during the second half of the event quickly had their Vauxhall Nova climbing the standings.

Will Maddox and Geoff Lowe finished 32nd overall and fifth in class in the Golf GTI, while Andy Price and Julia Perry came in 33rd and sixth in class in the Suzuki Swift.
