IT was another sunny weekend for the Men's Double Roll Up at Cleobury Mortimer Golf Club and those taking part were able to benefit from fast and firm fairways.

Saturday’s early starter Colm Berry shot an impressive 24 points on his outward nine before settling for 38 points – a total that was matched by Paul Harrison and Andy Young.

John Westley edged himself ever closer to a 10 handicap after breaking out of the pack with 39 points but it was Paul Liggins who took the spoils on day one, cruising through the front nine with 22 points and holding it together on the back nine for a fantastic 42 points overall.

On the Sunday, Ashley Cook shot 39 points reducing his handicap to 8.9 while Louie Edwards, back from university for the summer, shot a six-over par gross 42 points to see his handicap cut to 10.6.

Next up at Cleobury is a Stableford this Sunday.
