CORVEDALE remain rooted to the foot of Division Three of the Shropshire League following their seven-wicket defeat at Ludlow 3rds.
The visitors won the toss and opted to bat but found runs hard to come by against some accurate bowling with Daniel Ashley (3-23) and Albert Wall (3-26) leading the attack.
Paul Mantle and Harry Aldridge top-scored with 16 apiece but many struggled with Stephen Riley (12) and Tom Smith (15) the only others to reach double figures in a total of 99 all out. Ludlow’s Dylan Grinker took 2-13 to mop up the tail.
In reply, there was some early hope for Corvedale when Sher Muhammad Zahid (2-26) bowled opener Oli Boulton but that brought skipper Richard Mapp to the crease and he guided Ludlow home, scoring 51 off 44 balls before being run out.
Adam Bowen (15) and Grinker (14no) also chipped in as the home side reached 103-3 inside 20 overs.
