COURSE manager Mike Hughes used his knowledge of the Ludlow GC course to take the honours at Dave Sanders’ captain’s day.

His score of 38pts was matched by Will Evans but a better back nine secured victory.

The best gross score came from Harry Lines with 36pts with John Ward second with 32pts.

Margaret Harris won the ladies' event with 33pts, one clear of Pat Bown.

The best senior was Alan Hossbach on 34pts with senior’s captain Allen Hunt scoring 33pts for second.

Jonathan Price won the Jack Price Cup which is awarded to the best junior after posting 34pts which saw him finish two clear of runner-up Nathan Herdsfield.

Captain’s Day also saw the junior section stage a nine-hole non-congu competition and this was won by Harvey Barker with an excellent score of 17 nett. Will Wadsworth finished runner-up with a score of 23.

Tara Rodenhurst was the runaway winner of the Ladies' club championship for the fifth time, winning with a 36-hole gross score of 154 ahead of nearest challenger Julie Fullerton. Kim Simm produced an equally impressive performance to win the Kay Ward Cup, presented to the best nett score over the 36 holes. Her return of 143 was six shots clear of runner-up Margaret Harris.
