GRAHAM Spencer took the honours in the Ismay Cup, one of Ludlow Golf Club's oldest events that dates back to 1908.

His nett 66 included some excellent golf and took him clear of Division Two runner-up Steve Cox who finished on level par 70.

Division One was won by Simon Jones whose nett 68 was a shot clear of runner-up, Martin Langford. There was a three-way tie in Division Three with Les Minton winning on countback from Bob Burt and Godfrey Richards.

In the Tom Nolan Trophy, John Smallman took the honours on countback after tying with Trevor Lawrence on 42 points. Alan Hossbach and Towy Price finished joint third with 40 points.

Phil Kinder, Pete Monk, Nick Goodwin and Nick Goosey took the Club Texas Scramble with an impressive 52.85 nett. The best mixed team were Alison and Ray Reynolds, Tara Rodenhurst and Dave Mytton who scored 55.55.

A score of 30 stableford points clinched the Ladies Midsummer Madness for Val Alexander ahead of Astrid James.

At Cleobury Mortimer Golf Club, the Anniversary Texas Scramble was a huge success with 26 teams playing some fantastic golf.

The founding members team of John Gittins, John Gallagher, Dean Carpenter and John Swithenby recorded 12 gross birdies to clinch the honours – and £50 apiece – with a very impressive 53.8 nett.

It was a decent day for Carpenter who, together with Ashley Cook, also won the prize for nearest the pin.
