An unbeaten 66 from Bishops Castle skipper Tom Moulder could not stop his side from slumping to a five-wicket defeat at Prees in Division Two of the Shropshire League.
Batting first, the visitors encountered some tight bowling and had to settle for 176-6 from their 40 overs. Jack Perry (18 no) was also there at the close while opener Jonathan Price chalked up 24.
In reply, Prees had opener James Hopley bowled by Moulder for a duck but with fellow opener Andy Darlington hitting an unbeaten 66, the target always looked within reach and they made it home with four overs to spare.
Perry took 2-31 with Jack Poulton, Jack Purkis and Moulder also taking wickets.
Also in Division Two, Church Stretton lost by three wickets to Shrewsbury 3rds in spite of some impressive bowling from Jonathan Wood who took 3-9 off his four overs.
Only Gabriel Williams (35) troubled the scorers for Stretton who were dismissed for 102. The visitors reached 105-7 with four overs in hand.
