TENBURY’S Ed Gough helped defending champions Worcestershire & Herefordshire book their place in the final of the Iskitz Three Counties Championship with a 32-23 win over Shropshire.

They now go head-to-head with Greater Birmingham in Sunday’s final at Edwardians RFC.

Shropshire, who needed a bonus point win to make the final, led early on thanks to a brace of penalties from Ludlow’s Will Sparrow and they held on to reach the break with a slender advantage.

The players had to move to a different pitch for the second half following floodlight problems at the Shrewsbury pitch and the lights soon went out on Shropshire's challenge as they were unpicked by W&H's lively backs.

The visitors ran in three more tries soon after the restart and although their opponents hit back in the latter stages, they could not deny the reigning champions their place in the final.
