Luke Pugh and Si Bradley shared the goals as Woofferton saw off a stubborn Fownhope side 4-2 at the weekend.

The result lifted the Blues up to fourth in Division One of the Herefordshire League going into their final match on Saturday when Ledbury Town Reserves are the visitors to Haynall Lane. The awards ceremony will follow after the match.

Pugh scored the opener when he turned in a Will Prince cross with Bradley doubling the lead before half-time with a powerful free-kick.

But just when it seemed as though Woofferton were cruising to the points their visitors hauled themselves level in the final stages only for Bradley to halt the fightback when he struck his second of the game.

Pugh then wrapped up the points with the goal of the match, a fine volley from Dan Gower’s cross.

Club spokesman Dave Thomas said: ''We were really tested by Fownhope but it was pleasing to see the lads step up a gear in the last ten minutes to finish them off.”

Elsewhere in Division One, Ludlow Colts were beaten 2-1 at Ewyas Harold Reserves, Scott Gulbert with the Ludlow goal.
