TENBURY Snooker Club team members Charlie Fernihough and Ben Tamplin scored a first in the history of the club by both reaching the final of the Ludlow and District Snooker |League singles knockout annual cup competition.

Tenbury Snooker Club chairman Tony Hodgetts said this is the toughest individual snooker competition around with all the top players pitting themselves against each other.

"Although many club members in the past have reached the final, this is the first time in the club’s rich 50-year history that two players from the Tenbury club have reached the Ludlow and District singles final stage at the same time," he said.

The match took place at the Tenbury Snooker Club base ‘The Crow’ in Tenbury and was a close-fought battle with both players tying right up to the final game when Fernihough just managed to outwit his opponent and take the individual title in front of the appreciative, assembled home crowd.
