CHURCH Stretton rounded off their Sportsjam League Premier Division season with a 2-1 victory over title-chasing Rock Rovers.

And it was a win that almost guarantees third place for the Hanwood Rec side.

Goals from Richard Groom and Dean Richards proved enough to secure the points.

Clee Hill United could draw level on points if they win both of their two remaining league games but Stretton currently have a much better goal difference. Clee’s next game is at home to Childs Ercall on Saturday before they wrap up their campaign with two matches against leaders Oakengates Athletic – one in the league and the other in the final of the League Cup.

In Division One there was disappointment for Craven Arms Town as they lost 5-0 at Oakengates Rangers, Nick Walsh scoring twice for the home side.

Town head to runaway leaders Shrewsbury Juniors on Saturday while Brown Clee make the trip to lowly AFC Broseley looking for their first win in eight games.
