TENBURY Wells skipper Zack Yarranton said the Penlu side won’t be there to make up the numbers when they get their Worcestershire League Division Four campaign underway on Saturday.

The Division Five champions begin with a home match against Hanley Swan and Upton and the captain is hoping for another decent season.

“We’re looking forward to it and hopefully there will be a few more tougher games this season,” Yarranton said. “We had some good matches last year but there were quite a few that were a bit one-sided. It will be good to test ourselves in a new division.”

Saturday’s visitors only just avoided relegation from Division Four last season and the skipper is hoping for a good start.

“The first couple of weeks are always tough as quite a few of the lads will still be playing football,” he added. “But we should have the same core of guys from last year and we certainly won’t be there just to make up the numbers.”
