LUDLOW Colts ended a five-match winless run in the HFA County League Division 1 in emphatic fashion with a 6-1 stuffing of Fownhope reserves.

Man-of-the-match Charlie Gould, leading marksman Dan Crowther and new recruit George Sankey each helped themselves to doubles for Christian Leech’s side.

Gould collected a threaded pass from Simon Bull to fire home the opener from a tight angle but after wasting decent openings, a moment of hesitancy at the back saw Ludlow pegged back.

On came Crowther and he was soon on the score sheet, slamming home in trademark fashion after good work from Gould.

Colts were on top either side of half-time but it took until the 66th minute for the third to arrive when Jack Francis released Gould to finish at the near post.

Sankey got the goal his display deserved with eight minutes to go, converting a Gould cross before adding a quick-fire second with a 20-yard rocket from Ashley Smith’s pass.

Crowther rounded off the scoring from the penalty spot after he had been upended while chasing keeper Kieron Roche’s long punt forward.
