HEREFORD FC have confirmed Merthyr Town have put in an official seven day approach for their former player Adam Davies.

The Bulls full-back wasn't in the squad to face Bridgwater Town on Saturday and was also an unused substitute for Hereford's previous game against Shortwood United.

Davies was Merthyr's player of the year last season and joined Hereford last month.

"Adam Davies wasn't in the squad on Saturday, but at the moment he's still a Hereford player," said Hereford manager Pete Beadle.

"He wasn't well, so wasn't in the squad, but we just get on with it and move on."

Hereford won the game 4-0 thanks to goals from Mike McGrath, Mike Symons, Tristan Plummer and Jamie Molyneux.

But leader marksman John Mills had to leave the field shortly before half-time with a hamstring injury.

"They say the first 24 hours are crucial and from the contact I've had with him, it's better today," added Beadle.

"Hopefully it will continue to improve throughout the week and then we will have a proper prognosis."

Beadle was delighted with the manner in which Hereford won the game ans says the Bulls are in a good place at the moment.

"We're looking strong and are playing some good football," he said.

"For the first half, we had to be a bit more direct because the pitch was a bit bobbly, but we looked good and they didn't threaten too many times.

"After getting the first two goals fairly early in the game, there's always the danger that they may score on the break or get a set piece, but once we got the third goal it allowed us to settle down and we got a fourth near the end."
