OLLIE Smith, Adam Warren and Kieran Hall were all on target as 10-man Clee Hill United bagged a useful point in a 3-3 draw at Rock Rovers.

The point saw United move up to second in the Mercian League Premier Division table but they lost ground on leaders Madeley Sports, whose 3-0 triumph over AFC Bridgnorth reserves gave them a three-point cushion at the summit.

Next up for Clee Hill is a trip to fourth-placed Childs Ercall, one of the sides they leapfrogged at the weekend, on Saturday (3pm). Church Stretton are without a fixture for the second weekend in a row.

Craven Arms Town caused the shock of the day in Division One, securing their first win of the season against in-form Shrewsbury Juniors.

The 3-1 victory was earned thanks to strikes from Nathan Giles, Dale Hodge and Alan Williams against a Shrewsbury side that had scored a whopping 32 goals in its opening four league outings.

Craven Arms journey to St Georges United on Saturday (3pm).

Chris Yarwood’s goal proved enough for Brown Clee to overcome rock-bottom AFC Broseley 1-0.

The Hall Meadow outfit had been expected to make lighter work of a side that had shipped 27 goals in five league defeats but have another chance to rack up a sizeable score in their next outing.

Saturday’s opponents Denso (3pm) have been heavily beaten in each of their five outings to date, conceding a mammoth 56 goals which includes 11 without reply at home to leaders Newport Town reserves at the weekend.

In the Herefordshire County League Premier Division, Orleton Colts soaked up some late pressure in a topsy-turvy 3-2 win against previously-unbeaten Westfields reserves.

Ally Carvell netted a hat-trick, helping his side to come from a goal down to lead 2-1 before the visitors equalised.

Carvell’s third gave Colts the edge with 20 minutes to go but Westfields hit the crossbar and had a strong penalty shout waved away late on.

Tenbury United, without a match last weekend, entertain Ewyas Harold on Saturday (3pm).

Orleton’s reserves did not fare so well, though, and were walloped 7-0 at their Ledbury counterparts. Charlie Docherty’s four-timer did most of the damage with Harri John, Nick Bolton and Jai Smallwood also on the score sheet.

Declan Bright’s hat-trick lit up Tenbury Town’s clash with Fownhope reserves. Tom Pitt and Harry Moran also weighed in with strikes in a 5-1 victory.

Ludlow Colts played out a 3-3 draw with Ewyas Harold reserves. A treble from visiting hitman Dan James earned his side a share of the spoils.
