CLEOBURY Mortimer RFC rounded off their home fixtures with a stylish 34-15 victory over Edwardians in Midlands Three West (North).

And captain Will Bache is hoping his side can continue their good run of form when they play their final game of the season at neighbours Ludlow on Saturday.

Back row Paul Hulland led the way with a hat-tick with scrum-half Sam Bills scoring the other try while Dave Leach kicked all four conversions and two penalties.

“We started well with two converted tries but then let them back into the game,” Bache said. “But we took control in the second half to run out comfortable winners.

“We are starting to get a few players back now and on Saturday, I’m hoping that we can put out close to our strongest line-up – something which we’ve not been able to do since the turn of the year.”

Centre Josh Phillips has missed a number of games with a knee injury but Bache hopes his vice-captain will be back for the derby clash.

“Ludlow are a very good side at home so we know we will be under the cosh a little bit particularly as we’ve already beaten them once this season,” the skipper added.

Elsewhere on Saturday, Bishop’s Castle lost 22-7 at home to Rugeley in Midlands 4 West (North) and they round-off their season with a trip to high-fliers Telford Hornets while Church Stretton head to Market Drayton.

In Midlands Five West (North) Tenbury complete their season with a home game against champions Essington.
