BISHOP'S Castle Town cruised to a 9-1 win at hone to Sportsjam League Division One strugglers Brown Clee to maintain their mid-table position.

Leading 3-1 at the break, a goal from Martin Ziemann ten seconds into the second half proved the killer blow with the visitors then scoring at will.

Jack Mellor, Sam Jones and substitute Adam Davies all struck twice with the others coming from the penalty spot.

Alex Jones’ side are back in action this weekend with a trip to Oakengates Rangers (ko 2pm).

High-fliers Clee Hill United were also among the goals as they won 7-0 at Gobowen Celtic.

Craig Breakwell and Liam Whitbread led the way with two goals apiece, the others coming from James Clifford, Stevie Preece and Robbie Smith.

Church Stretton’s Premier Division match at Shifnal United was postponed. They are at home to AFC Broseley on Saturday (ko 2pm).

The weather proved the winner in the majority of the Herefordshire League games with Orleton Colts’ trip to Pegasus Reserves and Tenbury United’s Charity Bowl clash at Fownhope being postponed.

The Division One match between Holme Lacy and Orleton Colts Reserves did get the all clear with the home side running out 8-1 winners to keep them top of the table on goal difference from Woofferton.

This weekend sees Orleton Colts take on Tenbury United in the Herefordshire Senior Cup while in Division One, Orleton Colts Reserves head to Bromyard, Tenbury Town visit Kingstone Harriers and Woofferton welcome Wellington Colts.
