LUDLOW boxer Craig Morris is gearing up for his fourth professional fight on the Jingles Bells bill at Walsall Town Hall on Saturday, December 5.

The event is being hosted by Ricky Hatton promotions in association with Black Country Boxing and sees Morris pitted against his toughest opponent so far in the durable William Warburton.

The undefeated 23-year-old’s latest contest is on the undercard of the Hatton-trained Anthony Upton’s English title fight against current light-welterweight champion Joe Hughes.

The experienced Lancashire-based welterweight Warburton recently boxed the newly crowned British Commonwealth welterweight title holder Sam Eggington over six rounds, losing on a points decision.

Morris will be looking to build on his promising start to his professional career, having stopped his last two opponents, Viktors Drizlionoks and Victor Edagha, inside the distance.

But with Warburton having had 100-plus bouts and only three stoppages, this latest contest represents a big test for the promising Ludlow boxer.

Morris has had strong support for his first three pro fights and he is hoping that local folk get behind him again. Tickets are available at £30, with coach travel at £8. For more information contact Duncan Morris on 07890-844418.
