TALENTED Ludlow hockey player Jodie Beddow has been selected for the England Girls Under-18 squad.

Beddow, who is a former pupil at Bedstone College and now a student at Hereford Sixth Form College, won a place with the national squad after her impressive performances in the Futures Cup, a team competition between the four regions of England which was won by her Mercian Lynx team from the Midlands.

Berrow plays her hockey for the Shrewsbury club but trains with the Ludlow men, coaches the Ludlow Hockey Club juniors and also turns out for Ludlow Ladies in the summer months.

She has been involved in coaching and training with the Ludlow club for over eight years and has represented Shropshire in their Junior Academy sides from the age of 12.

Roger Furniss, Ludlow Hockey Club's Development Officer, said:?“Jodie’s selection reflects not only her outstanding ability but also her dedication to training and player development throughout the year. Ludlow Hockey Club are delighted to hear of her selection.”
