CHRIS Patton has joined Tenbury United from rivals Tenbury Town.

The attacking midfielder was one of Town's key players last year as Town won the Hereford Times Herefordshire Football League Division Two title.

United joint-manager Nick Stocker said he was delighted to have him on board.

"Chris recently rejoined us from Tenbury Town and obviously he’s taken a bit of stick," said Stocker.

"But he’s settled in well and is going to be a great addition.”

Patton scored for United in a 6-2 friendly win against an Orleton Colts XI side last weekend.

Tenbury trailed 2-0 thanks to goals from Dave Davies and Stefan Anthony inside the first 15 minutes, but then rallied to turn the tables.

Stocker crossed for Macauley Stone to pull a goal back and after some interval changes Mike Foster headed an early second-half equaliser.

Ashley Giles put Foster through to make it 3-2 and three more goals followed from ex-Orleton man Dan Ridley, John Bradley and Patton.

“I was impressed with our performance," said Stocker.

"Not only did we score six goals, we played some really nice stuff at times, especially in the second half.

"Ash Giles was given a new role as an attacking midfielder and caused Orleton trouble every time he got the ball.

"Dan Ridley continued his good pre-season form and I was delighted he got a goal.

"John Bradley was full of energy in the middle of the park and Chris Patton was a threat every time he got the ball."

This Saturday United stage their annual duck race from the bridge in the town.

It starts at midday and anyone wanting to buy a duck should call Nick Stocker on 07773 874930.

*TENBURY Town, meanwhile, followed a 2-1 win at Leominster Town - goals from Alex Lombardi (penalty) and Tom Pitt - with a 4-2 defeat at Shobdon on Saturday.

Mark Baker and new signing Jack Moran netted their goals.

*CLEE Hill United romped to a 16-3 victory over outclassed Woofferton with Ollie Smith, Adam Warren and Steve Preece grabbing four goals apiece.

The others came from Liam Lockett, Ryan Harper, Sam Watkins and Jim Robinson.
