JAMIE Tulloch from Ludlow is to compete in the Pembrokeshire Ironman Challenge on September 13 - and raise money for a worthwhile cause in the process.

Tulloch, 32, is the manager and associate member of the McCartney’s Welshpool estate agency office and is raising funds for the Adam Millichip Foundation, who provide support and assistance for disabled people who want to participate in sport.

He ran the 2015 London Marathon to help the foundation but admits he is breaking new ground with the Ironman Challenge, which embraces a 2.4 mile swim, followed by a 112-mile bicycle ride and then a marathon - all without a break!

Tulloch said: “I haven’t done a triathlon before so some people think I’m crazy jumping in at the deep end with the Ironman competition, arguably the hardest triathlon there is and the hardest on the Ironman circuit.

“I have done several marathons and long-distance runs before, including completing this year's London Marathon in a personal best time of three hours 15 minutes, but I am how in my 30s and I really wanted to challenge myself before I am too old and the legs give up the ghost.

“I feel that if something is worth doing then it’s worth doing properly and it’s good to push yourself to the absolute maximum. I am aiming to raise £1,000 for a fantastic cause and I will be grateful for any support I can get.”
