PADDY Brennan’s Boxing Academy and Fitness Centre in Ludlow are to play a part in the Forward Together Showcase event being staged by the Police and Crime Commissioner at Shrewsbury Sports Village on Sunday, July 5.

The event will highlight the work that goes on around policing and crime locally, promote a sense of community and healthy living, and hopefully inspire people to do something positive for themselves and where they live.

It will free to enter and dozens of PCC partner agencies and organisations will be involved – showcasing the work going on to rehabilitate offenders, victim support services, public health, and projects to divert youngsters away from crime, amongst many others.

The emergency services will also have a strong presence.

Given the positive influence it can have on people, sport will be a major theme, and the unique facilities on offer at the venue will provide the chance for people of all ages and abilities to watch and try their hand at more than 20 different activities – including rock-climbing, archery, basketball, hockey, cycling and inflatable football.

As well as Paddy Brennan’s Boxing Academy and Fitness Centre, Worcester Wolves, Shrewsbury Town FC, Worcestershire CCC and Telford Tigers will be present.

The Street Games charity will also host its annual West Midlands tournament at the event, with hundreds of youngsters involved in different sports.

It has previously been held in the Birmingham area, but the chance to work in partnership with the PCC means the event will come to Shropshire for the first time.
