NEWCASTLE boss John Goodridge is considering his future with the Mid Wales League (South) outfit.

Goodridge, who has been in charge at the club for 13 years, has found it hard to devote enough time to the job since a change in his work patterns.

He is to mull over his position in the next few weeks, with a decision set to be made before the club’s annual general meeting next month.

Goodridge said: “My work situation has made the job more difficult and I also have lots of other things I could be doing at weekends now I have two grandchildren living down south.

“I have made a lot of good friends at the club and it will be a hard decision.

"But 13 years is a long time and perhaps you can get too familiar with the same set of players.

"It may do them good to have a new face in charge.”

Newcastle, crowned league champions three years ago under Goodridge, were glad to see the end of the current campaign after losing 7-0 at Knighton Town Reserves in their final fixture.

Knighton, who finished as runners-up, included the three permitted players from their first-team, who had completed a league and cup double, and were 4-0 ahead at the break.

Newcastle were forced to defend for long periods and conceded three more goals in the second half.
