NEWCASTLE eased to a 4-1 win over bottom club Talgarth Town Reserves in Mid Wales League (South).

The home side dominated the entire first half with Talgarth happy to get men behind the ball.

It wasn't until five minutes before the break though that the deadlock was broken with leading scorer Craig Morris putting his side ahead.

Ryan Bufton soon doubled his sides' advantage in the second half heading home before Talgarth pulled a goal back with a speculative long range effort.

Newcastle centre half Simon Oakley gave his side some breathing space when he headed home a Sam Morgan cross before Bufton got his second of the afternoon with Newcastle also hitting the frame of the goal on another two occasions.

The win is Newcastle's third in the last four games.

The club doesn't play a league game this weekend but on Sunday it's Newcastle Cup semi-final day with Newcastle playing Orleton and Presteigne Reserves taking on holders Bishops Castle Town.

Meanwhile, Woofferton, who were without a game last weekend, entertain Bromyard this Saturday in the semi-final of the HFA Jock Handley Cup.
