ONLY one out of four Ludlow crews made it to the end of the Malcolm Wilson Rally held in the Cumbrian forests surrounding Cockermouth and Keswick.

Debutant Adam Thomas held up Ludlow club honours with a fine controlled drive to bring his Weaver Motorsport prepared and TNT Tyres sponsored Vauxhall Nova home in seventy-ninth overall and thirteenth in class.

Fellow Ludlow club member Keaton Williams stepped in as Thomas’ co-driver, allowing him to achieve his dream of competing on a stage rally.

The pair quickly formed a good partnership with Williams using his experience to guide his driver through the stages.

In the Mitsubishi Evo WRC, Ludlow co-driver Jon Scott teamed up with Jamie Anderson with the pair hopeful of another good result following their victory on the recent Mid Wales Stages.

They started brightly, finishing eighth fastest after stage one, but mechanical problems early on, followed by a crash on stage 7 saw them retire early from the race.

Bridgnorth co-driver Jez Rogers, alongside Jonathon Jones in the Ford Fiesta, went from lying second in class when they started stage four, to lying upside down in a ditch.

Luckily, both crew members escaped unscathed.

Veteran co-driver Mike Wilding in the Opel Manta of Jon Ballinger was also out when a driveshaft broke on the start line of stage seven.
