LUDLOW stretched their winning run to four games in the Warwick Printing West Midlands Premier league with a 5-1 win over bottom of the table West Bromwich.
The Black Country side were a much improved side from earlier in the season, and went ahead early on from a penalty corner.
However Ludlow responded with Brendan Pratt and Joe Haywood grabbing a brace each.
Graham Hutchinson also got on the scoresheet with a penalty corner strike to secure the win.
This weekend, Ludlow face Market Drayton in their penultimate game of the season, hoping to reverse a pre-Christmas defeat in the home game.
Ludlow 2nd also recorded victory over the weekend with a 4-1 success at Redditch in Division 2 West.
The win sees Ludlow move up to 4th in the league standings.
The first goal of the game was scored by Ludlow’s Tom Aston with Josh Rowson soon adding a second with a hard short-corner flick.
Ludlow’s dominance continued after the break, but Redditch grabbed a goal back against the run of play.
Mike Wilson restored the two-goal advantage for the hosts before Aston wrapped up the win with a fourth goal following a short corner.
Ludlow 3rd could not make it a clean sweep of victories on the weekend, as they fell to a 7-4 defeat on the grass pitch at Bridgnorth.
