TENBURY United were left ruing a string of missed chances as they battled out a 2-2 draw with Orleton Colts in Hereford Times Herefordshire Football League Premier Division.

The home side opened the scoring after five minutes through Ian Patterson, but allowed Orleton to score a scrappy equaliser thanks to Dan Crowther.

The Orleton marksman was on hand again to put his side ahead before Tenbury were awarded a penalty five minutes before the break.

But United joint-manager Aaron Morris sent his effort flying wide.

“We were deflated at half time,” admitted Morris.

Nicky Stocker managed to level on the hour mark in a second half that saw Tenbury have a goal ruled out as they dominated the game.

“We did everything but score the winner” said Morris.

The point for Orleton sees them maintain a mid-table position in the Premier Division table.

United now face a tough HFA Charity Bowl Cup semi-final against Ewyas Harold at Palmers Meadow.

“We played them a few weeks ago and gave a very good account of ourselves, we’ll be looking to do the same again,” said Morris.

In Sportsjam Mercian (Regional) League Division 1, Clee Hill United ran out 3-2 winners over rivals Bishop’s Castle Town.

The home side found themselves 3-0 up thanks to goals from Stevie Preece (2) and Adam Warren before being reduced to 10 men midway through the second half after Craig Shorter upended a Castle player.

The penalty was converted by Mark Griffith, before Castle scored a second.

But Clee Hill held on for the win.

Brown Clee lost 3-0 at AFC Wellington after the home side three quick-fire goals in the first half.

"We struggled for players this week and took the bare 11," said Brown Clee manager Chris Waldron.

"We can't seem to score at the moment, but we should have players returning for the up coming Quarter-Final Cup game against Clee Hill on Saturday."

Newcastle recorded an impressive 5-2 victory over fourth placed Hay St Mary’s Reserves in Mid Wales League (South).

They stunned their hosts with three quick-fire first half goals thanks to a Sam Morgan brace and a third from Scott Oxford all inside the opening 15 minutes.

Hay St Mary’s pulled a goal back through Steve Goodwin, but Oxford restored the three goal advantage for the visitors, grabbing his 10th goal of the season.

The home side came back again with Goodwin scoring his second of the game before half time.

Newcastle soaked up plenty of pressure from their hosts in the second half, before sealing the win with a fifth goal coming from Craig Morris.
