CHURCH Stretton boss Paul Smith was in a positive mood despite a fourth straight defeat for his team who were on the wrong side of a 4-2 loss against Ketley Bank United.

The defeat sees Church Stretton remain four places off the foot of the Mercian League (Regional) Premier Division with just three games left to play.

“I’m happier with the performance than I was last week," said Smith.

“We dominated the game, the only thing lacking was some quality in front of goal.”

Stretton have a fortnight off before entertaining fellow-strugglers Prees in a game which Smith has labelled as ‘must-win’.

“Our future is still in our hands, if we can get a win against Prees it will help our bid to stay-up," said Smith.

In Division 1, Brown Clee were guilty of wasting several first half chances before allowing Bishop's Castle to take control after the break.

Ben Edwards and Keiran Mulluch scorfed for Castle in a 2-0 win.

The loss sees an end to Brown Clees’ three game unbeaten run, while the win consolidates Bishop's Castle in fourth place in the league.

Clee Hill United recorded a 2-1 win over second placed Donnington Community Sports with the win seeing United climb two places up to Sixth.

In Shrewsbury & District Sunday League, Norbury ran out 3-1 winners against local rivals Minsterley Rangers.
