TENBURY Town will have top spot firmly in their sights when they take on current Hereford Times Herefordshire Football League Division 2 leaders Sinkums this Saturday.

Town are third in the league table, twelve points adrift of the runaway leaders who have lost just twice all season.

But, due to extended cup runs in both Herefordshire FA and Worcestershire FA competitions, they find themselves with five games in hand over the majority of sides in the division.

A win over Sinkums, for whom it is the last game of the season, would see Tenbury close the gap to just nine points with a further fifteen still available for the Palmers Meadow outfit.

“Sinkums are the only side to have beaten us all season, but that was right at the start and to be fair we’ve improved a lot since then” said club spokesperson Carl Lambert.

“The lads are geared up to winning promotion, we know we’ve got the quality in our side to achieve it.”

Tenbury will be hoping Mark Boucker can continue to find his form after he ended a mini goal drought with a brace in their last game, however manager Bob Sumner will be without first team regulars Kieran Fish and Adam Everall, both of whom are unavailable.

Meanwhile, Town's Worcestershire Minor Cup final against Worcester Olympic Under-21 will be played at Pershore Town's ground on March 28, kick-off 2.30pm.
