WOOFFERTON fell to a 5-3 defeat to Ewyas Harold in the Hereford Times Herefordshire Football League Division 1.

The match was played on Hereford Academy's 3G pitch due to a waterlogged pitch at Ewyas Harold.

The visitors had got off to a fantastic start with Dan Gower scoring a free-kick inside the first minute.

The striker then doubled his tally from the penalty spot but Harold scored two of their own to see the teams go into the break all square.

Ewyas Harold scored quickly in the second half to take the lead, before Si Bradley levelled for Woofferton with a well taken 20 yard free-kick.

However the home team secured victory with two late goals towards the end.

Woofferton remain in second place in the league, but trail leaders Bromyard by nine points.

The Blues entertain Kington Town Reserves this Saturday in the quarter final of the Jock Handley Cup at Haynall Lane.

Liam Watton grabbed a hat-trick as Orleton Colts Reserves recorded a fine 5-2 win over Ledbury Colts in Division 3.

Ben Apperley and Cory Whitticase were Orleton's other scorers.

The Colts are joint second in the league alongside Tupsley with the pair trailing leaders Dore Valley by three points.
