LUDLOW came out on the wrong end of a 14-goal thriller after losing 9-5 at Sikh Union Coventry.

Coventry gave their opponents a lesson in high tempo hockey during the West Midlands Premier League match and soon raced into a 2-0 lead.

James Pratt scored a fine individual goal for Ludlow with Graham Hutchinson adding a penalty corner but the visitors trailed 4-2 at the interval.

In the second half, Joe Haywood, Graham Hutchinson and James Pratt scored for Ludlow but each time they did, Coventry extended their lead.

Among the high points for Ludlow was the commitment of 17-year-old Lyam Hutchinson who put in an impressive performance.

Ludlow Second came away from Old Wulfs with a 5-3 victory despite surviving a barrage of attacks in the opening ten minutes.

But the strong Ludlow side battled back and began opening up the game with excellent midfield play only to see several quality chances squandered before Tom Aston opened the scoring.

The second half saw a feast of goals with Mike Wilson (two), Jake Watts and Aaron Wilcox on the scoresheet to lift Ludlow to fourth in the table.

Ludlow Third were also victorious in another high-scoring affair as they beat Stone 7-4 in their first home game since mid-December.

Jack Wood and Jack Pritchard scored two early goals before adding a couple more as Stone, without a goalkeeper, struggled at the back.

Further goals followed in the second half with Wood grabbing a total of four, Pritchard two and Jake Watts with one.
