TENBURY United saw their hopes of reaching a trio of cup finals dashed as they crashed out in the semi-final of the HFL Clubsport Cup

A string of refereeing decisions left Tenbury joint-manager Aaron Morris disappointed following the 2-0 defeat against Pegasus Reserves.

“We’ve written to the HFA before about the standard of referees, but once again we’re left feeling frustrated by some of the decisions,” said an angry Morris.

The visitors were left feeling aggrieved when Pegasus were awarded a soft penalty five minutes before the break. Their frustrations magnified during the second half with Morris feeling a series of decisions had gone against his side.

First it is claimed the referee missed handball in the build up to the second goal before a Tenbury penalty appeal was waved away.

“We understand we’re going to get some decisions going against us, but what we want is some consistency from the officials throughout the game,” said Morris.

Despite the loss, Morris said he was pleased with his team’s performance.

“We played well against a good Pegasus side and we can take a lot of positives out of the game.,” he said.

Tenbury must now pick themselves up in time for another semi-final tie when they face Ewyas Harold at Palmers Meadow in the HFA Charity Bowl this Saturday.

“We still want to finish the season on a high,” said Morris.
