ORLETON Colts manager Kristian Morgan was angry with his team's performance following a 3-0 defeat against Pegasus Reserves in Hereford Times Herefordshire Football League Premier Division.

The home side were trailing 2-0 at half time after being hit on the break after just 10 minutes.

Title hopefuls Pegasus doubled the score just before the break after a mix up in the box that saw the visitors fire home after some indecisive defending from the hosts.

With twenty minutes left on the clock Pegasus rounded off the misery for the home side, scoring a third to kill off the game.

“I’m not happy because I don’t think we played as well as we know we can," said Morgan.

"I think we let ourselves down a bit.

“Pegasus are a good side, they could still win the league and they know how to win games.

"But I just felt perhaps we could have done better on the day.”

Despite the defeat, Morgan is trying to set his sights on finishing in fourth place in the division.

“There’s a group of four teams in the middle of the table who are all pretty close," he said.

"Our aim is to try and finish on top of that group.”

The loss sees Orleton Colts Reserves remain in 3rd spot, trailing league leaders Dore Valley by eight points.

Next up for Orleton is a game against face bottom side Weston, who have won just once this season.

Newcastle's goals were scored one in each half, first by captain Jimmy Thomas and then Scott Oxford in the second.

Newcastle have only won twice at home in the league all season and the task won't get any easier this Saturday when they host reigning league champions Rhayader Town Reserves who currently sit six points off top spot in fourth place.

Newcastle remain in ninth place despite the defeat.

In Mercian (Regional) Football League Premier Division, Church Stretton saw their trip to bottom of the table Weston Rhyn postponed.
