LUDLOW Hockey Club were held to a disappointing 1-1 draw against Bromsgrove in Warwick Printing West Midlands Premier Division.

Martin Watts' team dominated the game but lacked any bite in the attacking circle.

Joe Haywood finally managed to break the deadlock early in the second half, but the home defence lost concentration in the dying moments of the game, allowing Bromsgrove to level from a short corner.

Ludlow 2nd secured a fine 5-3 win over Droitwich in their first West Midlands League game since mid-December thanks to a hat-trick from Mike Wilson.

Tom Aston opened the scoring in the first minute before Aaron Wilcox added a second five minutes later.

Mike Wilson then put the hosts 3-0 up before the visitors pulled one back before the break.

Wilson grabbed his second of the game early in the second half, before Droitwich converted a penalty stroke to keep the game alive.

Wilson secured his hat-trick shortly afterwards to seal the win, with a late goal from Droitwich proving to be nothing more than a consolation.

Ludlow 3rd XI were demolished 14-1 at Cannock with Hector Robinson scoring their consolation goal.

In the Marches Women’s League, Bishops Castle suffered a 5-0 defeat at Presteigne.
