TENBURY Town scored all three goals during their 2-1 win over Weobley in Hereford Times Herefordshire Football League Division 2, as Bob Sumner’s side extended their winning run to eleven matches in all competitions.

A bizarre own goal from Town's Alex Lombardi gifted Weobley the lead, but Keiran Fish levelled for the home side to restore parity.

With the teams looking set to share the points, Jack Farrar grabbed the winner with just 30 seconds left to play.

Tenbury lie in fifth place in the league table, nine points adrift of top of the table Sinkums, with four games in hand.

Next up for the Palmers Meadow side is a visit from second placed Kingstone Harriers.

In Division 1, second placed Wooferton slumped to their biggest defeat of the season, losing 7-0 to third placed Holme Lacy.

The visitors found themselves trailing 2-0 at the break with the hosts quickly doubling their advantage in the second half.

In a mad five minutes both Nathan Scott and Dean Harding were shown red cards for the visitors as tempers flared.

The Blues conceded a further three goals to see any title hopes go out of the window

“We could blame the referee, but our discipline was lost and we can't really grumble about the result," said Woofferton player secretary Dave 'Magnum' Thomas.

Woofferton entertain fourth placed Ledbury Town Reserves this Saturday.

Church Stretton manager Paul Smith has his sights on finishing near the top of the table after they extended their winning sequence to four games in Sportsjam Mercian (Regional) Football League Premier Division. Goals from Sean Gough, Matthew Newton, John Barber and Richard Groome secured the 4-0 win against Whitchurch Alport.

“It wasn’t long ago we were second from bottom in the league, but we're setting our sights on finishing second," said Smith.

Bishops Castle went down by a solitary goal against Rock Rovers in Division 1 and face a derby against Clee Hill this Saturday.
